The Hispanic Federation and Spectrum partner with Avenues for Justice to Launch our New Harlem Community Center Technology Lab

Access to technology is no longer optional, it’s foundational to creating pathways to opportunity for our young people.

On Monday, February 9th, Avenues for Justice (AFJ) looks forward to welcoming our partners, community members, and stakeholders to our Harlem Community Center as we unveil a major upgrade to our Digital Technology Lab made possible through an innovative partnership with the Hispanic Federation (HF) and Spectrum.

‍Thanks to a Spectrum Digital Education grant, our upgraded Digital Lab will serve as a critical hub for AFJ Participants who are seeking access to broadband, technology training, and digital skills that open doors to education and meaningful employment. At a time when conversations around technology and AI are accelerating, too many Black and Brown communities are still locked out of basic access. This investment helps close that gap.

Avenues for Justice is grateful to the Hispanic Federation and Spectrum for recognizing what’s possible when we invest locally, collaboratively, and with intention.

We hope that you’ll join us as we celebrate this milestone and the opportunities it will create for NYC’s young people. Two AFJ Participants will share how they have benefited from utilizing our computer labs to participate in AFJ’s HIRE Up workshops such as Digital and Financial Literacy with corporate partner City National Bank, along with Coding with BlackRock.
