MEDIA ADVISORY: GOLDMAN TO ANNOUNCE FEDERAL GRANT FOR AVENUES FOR JUSTICE
Funding Will Connect Formerly Incarcerated Youth To Job Opportunities, Prevent Recidivism
New York, N.Y. - Thursday, February 19th at 12:30PM: U.S. Representative Dan Goldman will announce a federal grant for Avenues for Justice. Avenues for Justice (AFJ) is an alternative-to-incarceration program that helps keep young people out of the criminal justice system. In 2025, AFJ served 691 at-risk youth. The federal funding that Rep. Goldman fought to secure will support AFJ’s HIRE Up program, which connects formerly incarcerated young people to workforce development and job readiness training.
Rep. Goldman will be joined by Executive Director of Avenues for Justice Elizabeth Frederick as well as justice-involved youth who are graduates of AFJ programs.
